Founded in 1984, the Atlanta COMTO Chapter membership is comprised of employees from a variety of transportation-related companies and organizations from Atlanta to Savannah, including MARTA, the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority, and the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Awarded "Chapter of the Year" in 2001, Atlanta COMTO has raised more than $30,000 to establish a scholarship endowment fund at Clark Atlanta University, the alma mater of Lauren H. Solomon, one of its founding members and former MARTA employee.
